  • 180g warm butter
  • 160g raw sugar
  • 40g cacao
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tbs sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Add all ingredients into a bowl or food processor and combine to a nice and smooth dough. Prepare a baking tray with a baking paper. Put 1/4 of the dough aside for the topping. Distribute the remaining 3/4 of the dough on a baking tray.
Now the cheese mix. Add into a bowl or food processor:
  • 1000g cottage cheese (the cheapest one from Woolie or Coles is just fine)
  • 125g butter
  • 2tbs sour cream
  • 260g raw sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • one pinch vanilla sugar
  • 2 large spoons of potato flour or corn flour
  • some sultanas if you like 🙂

Combine all ingredients, except the sultanas of course.
Add the sultanas, stir and put onto the chocolate base.
Distribute the fourth part of the chocolate base on top and up into the hot oven! Make yourself a nice coffee and wait 🙂

How To Build A Smokehouse

Yes, our smokehouse is ready and I love it. It works great! I will tell you more about our first smoked products in my next post. Here is the video how to build a smokehouse or how we did it and the finished product.

Tips:
  • If you want to build a smokehouse using timber, it is VERY VERY important to use NOT treated timber. You don’t want to have the poison in your meat later…
  • the smoke goes up, thats simple physic so make sure your channel outlet is not too low (we did the mistake at first and had to re-do the channel, watch the video and you will know what I mean
  • The channel level needs to go up toward the chamber

Our Backyard May 2015

Lots of news here in the garden. Our first bunch of bananas was really yummy! I did a nice dinner using the banana flower. Now, the next bunch is growing and the next banana flower has been eaten. Our guinea fowls and chooks are happy birds and the ducks went to the freezer. We were hoping for at least one girl but no. We had four boys which started to fight and chase each other the whole day so their time has come…. Well, this is life, and we got some beautiful organic meat in the freezer. Here some update of our backyard.
This is our passion fruit. You can find the flowers, the green and the ripe fruits on the bush. Everything at the same time Love it!
