This home made vanilla pudding custard is my mum’s recipe. We are using it as a topping on a sponge cake with some fruits on top, also as a filling for many different cakes or to enjoy just like that 😀 Just lately used it for the Coulds Slider slice making a double portion of what you see in the recipe 🙂 Yumm!
Home Made Vanilla Pudding Custard
- 40 g butter
- 40 g wholemeal or plain flour
- 1.5 cups milk
- 50 g raw sugar
- 2 egg yolks
Melt the butter, add flour and stir on a medium heat until light golden. Add milk and sugar and stir all the time to avoid burning on the bottom of the pot. Bring to boil. Take the pot off the heat, add vanilla and egg yolks and mix until combined. Let it cool and stir in between to avoid building a skin. It has to be cold if you use it on cake. ENJOY!
