Bana Grass – Clumping – Fast Growing – Many Uses
Bana Grass, Pennisetum purpureum x americanum
Bana grass is a clumping and very fast-growing perennial grass. It can reach over 4 m in height within a few months. It can be grown as an ornamental plant with many uses like:
- windbreak
- hedge
- fodder for cows, goats, sheep, pigs, birds
- mulch
- organic matter for compost production
Planting tips: Dig a 10cm deep trench, place the cuttings in, cover it with soil. Keep the soil moist until the grass establishes and starts to grow.
Growing tips: Bana grass grows best in full sun and half shade and in any type of soil, however, the better the soil, the quicker and better your plants will grow. All our edibles grow happily and quickly in raised garden beds.
